Truck wheel wash system
A truck wheel wash system is far more than just a cleaning unit – it serves as a vital interface between your site and the public infrastructure. It ensures that mud, clay, and dirt are removed right at the source, thereby maintaining traffic safety and making it easy to comply with legal requirements regarding road cleanliness.
Our truck wheel wash systems feature a modular design and are available in various lengths and performance capacities. With a standard axle load capacity of 15 tonnes and a clear width of 3 metres, they are engineered to accommodate all types of heavy-duty vehicles, ranging from trucks to tractors with trailers.
Depending on your requirements, the systems can be installed permanently or set up flexibly above ground using a mobile kit, an ideal solution for changing locations and temporary construction sites. A Truck wheel wash system is a specialized cleaning installation positioned at the exits of industrial or construction sites. Its primary purpose is to remove dirt from the tires, rims, and undercarriages of commercial vehicles as they pass through. This prevents mud and stones from being carried onto public roads.
The principle behind our Sunny-Wash DownPour series is based on a highly efficient low-pressure, high-volume process:
- The cleaning process: The truck drives through the system at a walking pace.
- High water volume instead of high pressure: Rather than using high-pressure jets, our systems flush away dirt using an enormous volume of water. Depending on the model, the water flow rate ranges from 1,700 l/min for the smallest model (2m EASY-wash) up to 24,000 l/min for the 12m ULTRA-wash.
- Targeted spray force: Water is discharged through a large number of specialized nozzles (ranging from 80 to 1,368 units) at a pressure of approximately 1.4 to 2.0 bar. This is gentle on the vehicle’s mechanical components while still effectively removing deeply embedded dirt from profiles and crevices.
- Closed-loop system: The wash water is collected in large basins (up to 350 m³ for the ULTRA-wash model), cleaned via sedimentation, and recirculated back into the system.

In the event of damage, there is no need to replace the entire system or carry out complex welding work on-site. Individual components can be replaced in a targeted and cost-efficient manner. The modular design allows for easy access to all relevant areas, which significantly simplifies regular maintenance.
Sunny-Wash truck wheel wash systems are available in several configurations and can be precisely adapted to varying degrees of soiling and operational conditions. Each level offers a tailored washing action—ideal for everything from construction sites with light soil contamination to areas characterized by heavy mud and cohesive soils, such as loam or clay. A tire-washing system is only as efficient as its water management. Depending on the degree of soiling and the frequency of truck traffic, the requirements for the minimum water storage volume vary significantly. Ideal for sand, gravel or light mud deposits.EASY-wash (SW-DPe): The compact solution for up to 25 trucks per day. Requires a minimum water supply of 12 m³.REGULAR-wash (SW-DPr): The standard for medium frequencies (up to 100 trucks/day). Depending on the version (4m to 12m), a storage capacity of 17 m³ to 110 m³ should be factored in.
When soil, silt, or stiff clay are involved, the requirements for water throughput and basin volume increase.POWER-wash (SW-DPp): This system can handle up to 150 trucks per day, assuming a medium level of soiling. For this, we recommend a basin volume of 30 m³ till 140 m³.MEGA-wash (SW-DPM): Our powerhouse for large construction sites with around 200 trucks per day. Due to the massive water flow of up to 15,600 l/min, a corresponding reservoir of 40 m³ to 250 m³ is necessary to effectively ensure sedimentation.
